AZRA: Hell & Back Single Review

24th July 2020 saw AZRA return with a brand new single and this being the exquisite Hell & Back. Releasing originals via her own label CLU Records, AZRA is insanely talented singer/ songwriter/ performer/ hip-hop dancer/ model/ entrepreneur who has an extremely bright future ahead of her.

AZRA is no newbie to the music scene, she made her debut with the Freedom EP in 2017. This tantalising treat was perfectly pop. The two years which followed saw the unveiling of three more singles and these being Dimension (2018), Skyline (2019) and Right Here (2019). Now she truly has a gift for penning impeccable pop belters.

Aside from releasing music on her very own label, AZRA has her very own YouTube channel where she uploads original material as well as her very own interpretations of well known songs.

Hell & Back is the follow up to Dangerous (which dropped earlier this year) and it’s a gleaming gem which hooked me on the very first listen. Basically this number was an empowering anthem packed with super sassy lyrics. Everything about this track was spot on, the EDM flavoured melody was packed with blistering beats, AZRA’s vocals were sweetly fresh whilst those whimsical words were both relatable and uplifting. This celebration of life was basically saying if you get knocked down, get back up again and come back stronger.

Here is what AZRA had to say “It’s very easy for us to feel joy during positive moments and blissful experiences throughout lives, but it’s during the trying times that our strengths, perseverance and potential are really tested. “It’s a song declaring to our past, present and future selves that there’s always going to be times of darkness throughout our lives, but as the saying goes, ‘great the fall, higher the bounce back. This will always stand true and we will always bounce back stronger and brighter every time. I hope this song can bring some joy, hope and fearless empowerment during this trying time of global health, racial and social pandemic”.

Hell & Back is available from iTunes (USA/ UK)
