KiSMiT: No Turning Back Single Review

No Turning Back is the brand new single from indie pop duo KiSMiT and it’s a slice of synth heaven which can brighten up any ones day. Well the driving forces behind the name are Baz King and Carly Barnette and they have something extremely special. At this moment in time they have a multitude of exceptional tunes underneath their belt which leaves me anticipating further originals in the future. I was introduced to this amazing act in 2017 and I was thrilled with what I heard. Since then KiSMiT went on to release the Cosmic Love EP and this year saw the emergence of Compass and Look No Further

Based out of Silver Lake, California this talented two piece joined forces in 2013. Now Barnette comes all the way from California whilst King comes all the way from Cape Town. Their paths crossed at a songwriting class at Boston’s Berklee College of Music late 2013 and from that moment Carly & The King were born. They then embarked on a two-year adventure around the world – performing on the Celebrity Cruise Lines through Northern Europe, The British Isles and the Caribbean.

Back to the single in question, No Turning Back is a groovy synth gem which can easily get you moving. Carly’s velvety vocals were easy on the ear whilst Baz’s tantalising tones put me in a trance. Also both set of vocals combined to one another perfectly creating pure ear candy. Everything about this glitzy tune was spot on, they truly have penned an outstanding original which literally uplifts my spirits. Actually these wondrous words had me grinning from start to finish.

Then we get to the music video and this was a fun fueled treat aided by perfect choreography. This vibrant visuals followed the duo dancing through the streets of Los Angeles’ notable Echo Park neighbourhood.
