Introducing: The Nectars

nectars

The Nectars are a phenomenal 4 piece band who hail all the way from New York City. This talented quartet consist of Jon Paul (bass / vocals), Mike Montalbano (drums / vocals), Michael Baron (guitar / vocals) and lead vocalist Jessica Kenny.

The Nectars formed in 2016 and despite rising label interest they wanted to do things their own way. Plus they scouted studios for free recording time and now they’ve created over 10 tracks. That very October was when The Nectars made their presence known with the sparkling debut and this being Going Out Of Business. Comparing The Nectars of old to The Nectars of new you do notice a dramatic difference. Going Out Of Business was more indie pop. Just from listening to this delectable cut I’m well and truly hooked, the lyrics were highly contagious and Kenny’s vocals were both light/ blissful. The song itself can still be purchased from iTunes.

Fast forward to 8th December The Nectars unleashed their sophomore and this coming in the shape of Heaven. I’ve had this tempting tune on constant repeat and all I can say is OMG. Oozing plenty of punk pop vibes the impeccable Heaven is literally a high octane roller coaster ride. I could feel the electrifying energy radiating from this brilliant number. Those lyrics were so infectious and Jessica’s glitzy/ hazy vocal tones were a force to be reckoned with. The closest band I can compare them to would be Paramore during the Riot era.

Judging the material I’ve heard, this passionate group is one to watch out for in 2018. The debut EP is in the works and I for one cannot wait to witness The Nectars live in the flesh.
