Dan Owen: Moonlight Single Review

Dan Owen is an impeccable singer/ songwriter who comes all the way from Shrewsbury. This talented 24 year old signed to Atlantic Records this May and Moonlight is Owen’s major label debut. Now this tasty tune featured on the exquisite Open Hands And Enemies EP which came out October 2016. The record itself featured 4 excellent tracks which showcased both his excellent song writing skills and charming vocals. Now Moonlight has been re worked and Dan’s crisp soulful vocal tones render me speechless. I’ve been aware of Owen’s music for quite a while having been at that Birdy Roundhouse show May last year.

Aside from all of that Dan has just unveiled the official music video for Moonlight. Taken from the Open Hands And Enemies EP, this was soothing tender love ballad which left me hypnotised at the same time. Plenty of emotion flowed from those luscious lyrics and Dan’s crisp vocal tones were second to none “You’re the Moonlight, in the dark night/ Making my skin hate the sunrise/ You’re the Moonlight shining my eyes/ Taking my world to the dark side”.

If you love your folk music then give Dan Owen a listen to. Having heard Owen’s prior material I can tell his future is looking extremely bright.
