Catherine McGrath is a passionate singer/ songwriter whom moved from her hometown in Northern Ireland to London last year. Currently signed to Warner Music the mavelous McGrath has already performed at Country To Country, plus she’s supported the likes of Una Healy, Cam, Canaan Smith and The Shires. In the forthcoming months Catherine will open up for the likes of Una Healy, Kelsea Ballerini and Picture This. Also she will be performing at BST Hyde Park on 9th July which Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers headline.
Early last month Catherine took to the studio and recorded 4 special minute long videos. These 4 tunes will form the sublime sophomore EP Starting From Now which drops on 9th June 2017. What I especially liked was the fact that these mini videos have been uploaded to different social media platformed. First up was Starting From Now which premiered on Instagram, then you had When I’m Older which appeared on YouTube and now the beautiful Just In Case was uploaded to Facebook. Now this glitzy video gives you the illusion of Catherine performing within Facebook and emerging from the screen as her lyrics appear as comments below.
When McGrath performed at Country To Country this delectable tune wormed its way onto the set list. Just In Case was a beautiful song, those luscious lyrics saw Catherine singing how you shouldn’t write off a relationship straight away because he or she could actually be the one.
Now McGrath’s vocals were ever so succulent and those contagious lyrics were both light/ fluffy. Whilst the toe tapping verses were spectacular my highlight had to be the infectious chorus “Just In Case/ You should probably kiss me/ Probably whisper in my ear/ Probably hold me, like you need me/ Before the moment disappears/ Might end up in heartbreak/ Might not be the real thing/ But it could be/ So you should probably kiss me/ Just In Case”.
Here is what Catherine has to say about this feel good pop anthem “’Just In Case’ is about meeting someone new and how it first starts out, the chances are it’s not going to last forever, you won’t live happily ever after and that person won’t be the love of your life, but they could be…”.
