Catherine McGrath: When I’m Older Single Review

Catherine McGrath is an emerging talent who is set to take the country scene by storm. 31st March saw Catherine unleash her brand new single and this being When I’m Older. On the day of release it went straight onto Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ playlist and Apple Music’s ‘Best Of The Week’ list.

This delightful song is the 2nd installment from her upcoming sophomore EP, Starting From Now, which will be released via Warner Bros. Records on June 9th.

Catherine wrote the glorious When I’m Older and it’s literally a slice of heaven. Now this country inspired cut was incredibly uplifting and those lyrics convey the message to make the most of your youth. Anyhow the songwriting was literally insane, Catherine has crafted an absolute masterpiece. Those verses were smooth then you had the joyous chorus which brought a smile to my face “Right now, I’m gonna turn it up/ Sing every song at the top of my lungs/ Dance every dance just for fun/ Do it all while I’m still young/ I wanna make a lot of big mistakes/ Live and love and learn the hard way/ ‘Cause these are gonna be the good old days/ Someday, when I’m older”.

Yesterday (5/4) Catherine released a music mini video for the captivating When I’m Older.  A couple of weeks ago McGrath recorded 4 special mini videos which will feature on the upcoming EP. Each of these songs will appear on various social media platforms. Now When I’m Older began with Catherine reaching out of her YouTube screen to turn up the volume.
