Gabrielle Aplin: Miss You Single Review

Co-written by Aplin Miss You was produced by Mike Spencer who has worked on the likes of Snakehips, Rudimental Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding, Jack Garratt and produced Aplin’s debut album English Rain in 2013.

I’ve been a fan of Gabrielle Aplin’s since the very start, at this moment in time she’s released 3 exquisite EPs and 2 amazing albums. Now if you have listened to both English Rain and Light Up The Dark then you will know that Aplin sings fantastic folk music. Her vocals are sweet like sugar and at the same time they are extremely distinctive.

Gabrielle is a talented 24 year singer/ songwriter whom comes all the way from Wiltshire. Last week she dropped her latest single and this was a right belter. Miss You is the lead single from forthcoming EP Miss You which is released on 16th December.

My god this tune is extraordinary and extremely different compared to material of the past. Miss You was pure synth pop with a calypso sounding melody and the change of direction worked wonders. Aplin’s vocal tones were candy coated and the infectious lyrics resulted in something that had been perfectly pieced together. To sum things up Miss You is like an addiction as I could easily stick it on repeat.
